Doyle Appointment to Fine Gael Front Bench
Fine Gael Wicklow Deputy Andrew Doyle has welcomed the opportunity to work as Spokesperson for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on the Party’s Front Bench.
“Recent events in Fine Gael have attracted a lot of attention culminating in the announcement of the new Front Bench yesterday. I am extremely honoured to now fill the role of Spokesperson on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. A long family background in agriculture together with many years of experience working in the agricultural sector have proved invaluable in my previous roles and will continue to guide me in this new role.
“While delighted to embark on my new role I am also mindful of the need to retain a focus on the many challenges facing our country. The reality is that Fine Gael has now moved into a new place. Our primary objective remains to present a credible alternative and to rid this country of this reckless and tired Government. I believe that Fine Gael has been going in the right direction in terms of policy initiatives. We have the right approach and I believe that Enda Kenny TD has strengthened our team with Michael Noonan TD and Richard Bruton TD now leading our economic strategy.
“Though under no illusions as to the extent of the job facing us, I look forward to the next phase from both a party and a personal perspective and I will continue to work for the people of Wicklow and East Carlow to the best of my ability.”
